Why might a THERM BOX be damp inside upon delivery?
Sometimes our THERM BOX polystyrene boxes reach customers with slight moisture or a subtle odour inside. This is not a quality defect but a natural effect due to temperature differences during storage and transport.
Warm ambient air meets the cold box, and condensation can form for a short time – similar to a cold beverage bottle. Simply wipe the box dry and let it air out briefly. After that, it is immediately ready for use.

How to get the most out of your THERM BOX
With the right preparation, you will achieve the best possible cooling or warming effect for your THERM BOX.
For optimal results, the products to be transported should already be pre-cooled or pre-heated. In addition, we recommend using cooling packs or heat packs, placed as much as possible on the sides and above the goods, to support an even temperature distribution.
Make sure to pack food and liquids securely. This will keep the box clean and improve hygiene. During transport, the lid should remain closed as much as possible to minimize temperature loss.
Avoid direct sunlight and unnecessary heat sources. This way, the excellent insulation properties of your THERM BOX can be utilized to their full potential.
Cooling pads for maximum cooling performance
Our THERM BOX cooling pads are reusable and ensure reliable cooling when transporting temperature-sensitive products. To ensure optimal cooling performance and a long lifespan for the pad, a few points should be observed.
Freeze the cooling pad as flat as possible. This ensures that the cooling mass is evenly distributed and the pad can be placed more easily in the box later. After freezing, the pad is hard – therefore, handle it carefully.
Pay particular attention to frozen corners and edges. These can be harder and should not be sharply bent, squeezed, or placed on rough surfaces to avoid damaging the outer casing.
For longer cooling times, multiple cooling pads can be used. Place them as much as possible on the sides and above the goods to support even cooling in the THERM BOX. Sensitive products can additionally be protected by a cloth or a thin separation layer.
